  Horse artillery imperial guard 1804-1812

  Created originally as the artillery of the Guard under the Consulate, the horse artillery developed in the dress and uniform of the Horse Chasseurs of the Guard, except as to colors. They retained the traditional colors of the artillery, dark blue, with red as the color of distinction.
