In order to combat the unusual skirmishing tactics of the Cossacks, in 1813 the Emperor created regiments of Mounted Scouts, a kind of very light cavalry advance guard, which regiments were attached to the Cavalry of the Guard ; Horse Grenadiers, dragoons and Light Horse.

The scouts became one of the most active arms, always at the forefront of the most punishing and dangerous situations.
The 1st Regiment was attached to the Horse Grenadiers and adopted the title "Grenadier Scouts".
It was made up of elements of the Old guard (1st, 2nd and 4 th coys) and of the Young guard (3rd Coy.), which wore different uniforms.
All models are supplied as kits and will need to be assembled and painted.
The picture illustrates how the model should look once completed.
Glue and paint are not included in the kit.
